PROBLEMS WE SOLVE

Industrial Fumes & Airborne Contaminants

Industrial fumes, dust and airborne contaminants can compromise worker safety, air quality and building conditions. Airocle designs engineered natural and hybrid ventilation systems to help manage contaminant accumulation across large industrial facilities.

Industrial Fumes & Airborne Contaminants

HOW IT WORKS

Extracting Industrial Fumes Naturally

Step 1
Inlet Air Enters

Strategically positioned air inlets introduce outside air into the facility, supporting the airflow required for effective ventilation.

Step 2
Fumes Are Diluted and Transported

Engineered airflow helps dilute and transport airborne contaminants towards exhaust points, reducing their accumulation within the facility.

Step 3
Contaminated Air Is Exhausted

Natural ventilators discharge contaminated air using wind and thermal buoyancy. Where required, integrated fans provide additional extraction capacity.

WHAT IT MEANS FOR YOUR OPERATIONS?

Regulatory Exposure

Workplace Exposure Standards: Industrial fumes, dust and gases are subject to workplace exposure standards. In January 2024, Safe Work Australia announced a reduction in the workplace exposure standard for welding fumes from 5 mg/mÂł to 1 mg/mÂł, measured as an eight-hour time-weighted average.

Compliance Risk: Businesses must manage airborne contaminants in accordance with applicable workplace health and safety regulations. Inadequate controls can allow contaminants to spread throughout a facility, increasing worker exposure and regulatory risk.

Whole-Space Exposure Risk

Beyond the Source: Airborne contaminants can travel beyond their point of generation, potentially exposing nearby workers, supervisors and others throughout the facility.

Facility-Wide Air Quality: Contaminant accumulation and uneven airflow can create exposure risks across different work areas, highlighting the importance of an engineered ventilation strategy.
How we deliver

From Fumes Assessment to Engineered Ventilation Solutions

Step 1
Fume & Contaminant Assessment

We assess your facility's layout, industrial processes and contaminant sources to understand how fumes, dust and gases are generated and dispersed throughout the space.

Step 2
Optional CFD Modelling & Design Validation

Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) modelling can be used to predict airflow patterns, contaminant dispersion and expected ventilation performance against agreed design criteria.

Step 3
Passive or Hybrid Ventilation Solution

We design, supply and install a ventilation system tailored to your facility. Where required, hybrid ventilators incorporate integrated fans to provide additional, on-demand extraction capacity.
