The Challenge:
Laycock Street Theatre had a big problem on their hands, their aging roof was due for an upgrade, and to make things trickier, their original ventilation supplier was no longer available. While the roof itself wasn’t part of our job, upgrading the ventilation system was essential to keep the building safe and compliant with modern fire safety standards.
A major concern during this upgrade was the installation of fire and smoke vents. These vents were critical for meeting current safety regulations by providing a safe pathway for smoke and heat to escape in case of a fire. With safety being a top priority for any public venue, Laycock Street Theatre needed a solution that not only addressed their outdated ventilation but also enhanced fire protection, ensuring the safety of both performers and audiences.

To tackle these challenges head-on, we partnered closely with FORM Constructions and Laycock Street Theatre to deliver a solution tailored to their unique needs. After carefully assessing the situation, we recommended and installed our high-performance 8 Series roof vents, designed specifically for the safe and efficient release of smoke and heat during a fire.
These vents didn’t just meet the latest safety standards—they exceeded expectations by offering durability and low-maintenance performance, ensuring the theatre would have a reliable system for years to come. Our team took care of the entire installation process, working efficiently to minimise any disruption to the theatre’s schedule.
